Lake Camping in Glendo, Wyoming—Beaches, Boating, BBQ
I found the ultimate summer camping destination in Wyoming!

Think sandy beaches, boating all day, campfires at night, and some of the best sunsets over the water.

Campground Highlights
This campground is amazing.
Glendo Reservoir is HUGE, and there are multiple campground areas spread around the lake. Many campsites sit right next to the water, making it feel like you’re camping on a beach.
The campsite we stayed at was sandy with lots of shade and easy lake access. It honestly didn’t feel like Wyoming, it felt more like a hidden beach destination.
Most campsites include:

Fire rings
Nearby restrooms

RV and tent camping options

My Review
The beaches here are a blast.
The water was crystal clear, refreshing without being freezing cold, and the proximity to the water made the whole experience feel like true beach camping.
I also loved how easy it was to get around the park. Even though the area is huge, there are so many places to explore, swim, launch boats, and relax.
And the sunsets?
Absolutely incredible.
Watching the sun go down over the lake from our campsite ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip.
If you’re looking for an affordable summer camping trip near Colorado with lake days, boating, beaches, and amazing sunsets, Glendo State Park absolutely deserves a spot on your summer bucket list.
